**About the Role**

**Fixed term for 22 months - full time**

In this role as Public Transport Network Data Specialist you will be responsible for leading the program to uplift DTP’s existing public transport timetable system (DIVA4) defining connections between multi-modal stop places, documentation of stop rules including numbering and naming conventions. You will provide sound skills in the design, development and maintenance the spatial mapping layer and oversee downstream change management to journey planning systems, internal data platforms (using NeTEx) and open data (GTFS). You will have proven experience working with geographical systems and database tools and sound knowledge of industry trends regarding GIS and mapping technologies and practices, and an ability to use this knowledge to influence the management and delivery of spatial products and services.

The uplift in spatial mapping, documentation and processes will include definition of stop place connections/transfers, stop numbering and naming conventions, DIVA asset management processes, path links, link to physical signage on network and the Network service change process control. Additionally, in this position you will be responsible for ensuring that the integrity of information flows within the department and across operators, partners and customers, taking into account the overall Integration Transport Data Program strategy and organisational business requirements while proactively engaging the relevant parts of the organisation and business stakeholders.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- **Demonstrated specialist in spatial services** including the management, integration, and analysis of spatial and associated business datasets. Can coordinate the presentation of results using quality cartographic, graphical and textual reports that meet the needs of customers.
- **Build stakeholder buy-in** through strong and trusted relationships, providing sound advice to key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in the design and implementation of spatial solutions and products that satisfy identified business needs.
- **Develop work practices, procedures and guidelines** to support spatial data management policies and/or cartographic standards and/or spatial systems.
- **Strong analytical thinking** including the ability to conceptualise complex 3D environments.
- **Research and provide critical analysis** to support innovation, development and implementation of spatial products and services.
- **Embed continuous improvement** to existing methodologies/work practices that result in business improvements for the work area.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification
- Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role (3 - 5 years)

**Desirable**
- Experience working with Agile product teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in geomatics, spatial information management or a related area
