- Located in the heart of East Melbourne this highly respected specialist group of four female Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have created
- _the most wonderfully supportive working environment_ for all clinical and administration staff. Each specialist has a dedicated PA who enjoy individual responsibility for their surgeon, yet benefit from the combined efforts of a team environment.

Responding to increased patient numbers due to the excellent reputation of the specialist, a newly created role of
- **Medical Secretary** has been designed to add a much needed extra pair of admin and patient service hands. Working in partnership with the PA, the
- **Medical Secretary** will offer outstanding reception, patient coordination and admin support for the group's busiest Obs/Gyn. This role is offered on a
- **permanent full time basis with an early finish (around 1pm) each Friday**
- This role provides comprehensive support to your specialist that includes (but not limited to):_
- management of reception duties and smooth running of consulting sessions
- diary management, appointment setting, confirmations and rescheduling
- typing of reports and other correspondence
- maintenance of patient records, maintaining strict confidentiality
- processing patient accounts, consult billing and receipting (utilising Genie & Eclipse)
- maintaining and fostering close professional relationships and liaison with external practitioners/GPs and service providers associated with the practice
- involvement with growing and developing your surgeon's private practice
- other general office and admin duties as necessary
**About You**
- As the successful applicant you will be an experienced
- **Medical Secretary/Receptionist** with sound working knowledge of Genie. You'll have worked within a specialist/surgical practice and understand the importance of care and empathy for patients who are experiencing a range of emotions and vulnerabilities. Patient billing, liaising with health funds/Medicare and a meticulous level of follow up and detail describe your skill and working style. Understanding of medical terminology (Obs/Gyn highly advantageous) and the ability to work efficiently under pressure; taking responsibility for the smooth operation of your specialist's consulting sessions as part of a close knit, high functioning team is essential. You will be naturally patient oriented and go out of your way to ensure that patients receive superior service each and every time they visit or contact the practice.
**Salary & Work Arrangements**
The position is offered Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 1.00pm. A generous hourly rate is negotiable in the range of
