About the role:
Develop Sourcing Strategies for Direct and Indirect spend categories covering both Australia and New Zealand and has direct accountability result in Nando’s critical categories of Poultry, Chips and Beverages. With the aim to maximise value for the business whilst working mutually with existing suppliers, as well as establishing new suppliers as required. Achieving best quality and best price on key categories to support the overall growth and procurement strategy.

Defining the Procurement strategy and framework and for key supplier negotiations in the Poultry, Chips and Beverages categories. Taking a lead on various Procurement projects (systems and process) and will also be involved in oversee various Global Category Management work streams.
- The key category accountabilities: Chicken, Chips, Beverage (incl. all alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- For critical, high spend Direct and Indirect categories, this role needs to develop and achieve aligned and signed off Sourcing Strategies.
- These Sourcing Strategies must highlight Internal Needs, External Forces, Future Needs for the Category, and then set a strategy with actions to maximise value for the business. That value may be in price savings, risk mitigation or it may be the enabler for more growth.
- Lead the wider Procurement team to establish sourcing strategies and focus in currently unmanaged spend, working cross-functionally to clarify and enhance Nando’s procurement operations in these areas.
- Implement actions in line with the defined sourcing strategy both internally and with suppliers to achieve the value as defined in for each category.
- Set minimum annual targets, in conjunction with the Commercial LT and Chief Commercial Officer to mitigate cost pressure and create additional value across the Nando’s value chain.
- Develop strong relationships to share knowledge and information to maximise value return for Australia and New Zealand, and as much as possible seek to work with the Food team to align the menu across Australia and New Zealand.
- Work closely with other parts of the Nando’s business, both locally and globally to share best practise, learnings, and successes.
- Line Manager for 2-3 Procurement Category Specialists.
- As the key Commercial member of our Activity Management process, lead and support our Food culture in conjunction with Marketing and Food teams through ideation, support and delivery of Activities to optimise our menu.

What you will bring:

- Experienced in managing peers, teams, stakeholders and leaders.
- Experience in Direct and Indirect Spend Management experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Planning and Logistics with direct operating experience preferably in a mature S&OP environment.
- Experience in operating/managing in both company-owned and franchise environments.
- Experience and understanding of the Australian and New Zealand food and non-food landscape.
- Strong continuous improvement and growth mindset to lead and embed better ways of working.
