**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Indigenous Australians Communications Lead to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.
The Indigenous Communications Lead works closely with the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Australians) as the key client for strategic directions and priorities. The output of the role will include the development and implementation of high quality Indigenous Australian marketing and communication programs.

- Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development. The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.
**About Marketing and Communication**
The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:
- Building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
- Engaging and recruiting future students
- Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.
As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.
**What you need to succeed**
As a strong communicator, you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and communicate the shared QUT Values in your approach to work.
You will demonstrate:
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a postgraduate qualification in marketing/communications.
- Demonstrated experience in developing communications that engage Indigenous Australian audiences within a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Indigenous Australian marketing and communication strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering communications to diverse audiences such as industry, government, non-government organisations, recruitment markets, students, and staff.
- Demonstrated experience in consultation, engagement and negotiation in a culturally appropriate manner adhering to community protocols with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Elders and communities.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, and a proven ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with key client stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills, with a proven ability to develop targeted messages for translation across web, advertising, print and digital channels and client proposals.
