Significant stakeholder engagement & influence of Finance leadership

**Role Location**: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

The Finance function drives financial performance for the enterprise by shaping strategy, allocating resources and ensuring decisions are based on facts. The function is responsible for providing insights into business performance and strategic direction, various management, regulatory and statutory reporting requirements as well as management of ANZ’s financial processes, technologies and governance.

Financial Performance Management (FPM - a team of ~100) forms part of the Finance function and is responsible for supporting the Group CFO, the Deputy and Divisional CFOs and the business in setting strategic direction and driving financial performance. Furthermore, FPM drives continual process improvement by leveraging its scale and ‘one way of doing things’ across its Group and divisionally aligned teams, including the Cost Centre of Excellence (‘Cost COE’); operating a common strategy spanning processes, data & analytics, systems & tools and people.

For the past two years, FPM has undergone a transformation which has included changes to its operating model and key processes. This work continues and the next phase of the transformation will also see investment in data & systems to further transform the function.

What will your day look like

On behalf of the Head of FPM, the Ops & Transformation Lead is responsible for development of the functional strategy and execution & oversight of the change program. This includes monitoring metrics / KPIs and embedding governance practices to ensure delivery of the strategy; and managing a small team of change resources tasked with responsibility for execution of the strategy. It is required to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders within Finance (CFO group, FPM divisional heads), while also canvassing and supporting business stakeholder needs.
In addition, the role supports a small number of operational areas on behalf of the function (e.g. membership of broader Finance forums linked to people strategies).

What will you bring?

Whether your background is in a business role, Financial Control, FP&A, Business Partnering, Project Accounting, Change Management - these will be included in your toolkit or areas where you wish to grow & develop further:

- Strategy Development - adept at developing & executing functional strategy
- Continuous/Process improvement - responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives across a Finance function, with a background in process optimisation (e.g. LEAN / Six Sigma)

- Demonstrated capability to influence senior executives and driving business performance through providing strategic and commercial advice.
