About the role- Genuine career development in a busy team integral to the business An opportunity has become available for a Regulatory and Compliance Advisor to join AGL’s high performing and market leading Retail Regulation function in a permanent capacity.

Reporting to the Regulatory and Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a range of initiatives by providing regulatory advice and compliance expertise on all facets of the retail energy market.

You will join a collaborative and supportive team to deliver relevant and actionable regulatory and compliance advice to a diverse stakeholder group to ensure AGL meets its compliance objectives.

What you’ll be doing:
- Providing relevant, strategic and actionable regulatory and compliance advice to the business units operating in a highly complex regulatory environment- Partnering with business stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory obligations- Execute an ongoing internal education program and conduct workshops to ensure understanding of regulatory obligations- Delivery of AGL’s external regulatory compliance reporting obligations, as well as associated internal management reporting- Investigate potential compliance incidents, driving appropriate actions to remediate and prevent reoccurrences

About You:
You will have had success in analysing obligations and articulating complex regulatory or compliance matters to a range of audiences. Your ability to work effectively against competing priorities set you up for success in this role.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Previous experience within a regulatory advisory, compliance or legal role within the retail energy sector or other regulated industry- An excellent level of stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to inform and influence teams on regulatory compliance and interpretation of issues- Strong literacy skills and experience in the preparation of written reports for senior management or external regulatory bodies- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to produce quality internal and external written communications- Legal qualifications will be well regarded
