The School of Science at Edith Cowan University (ECU) offer undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees in a wide range of disciplines. Academics in the School are involved in research and teaching relating to: Computing, Security, Cyber Security, Biological Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with a focus on the continued growth of the disciplines.
The Executive Officer to the Executive Dean is responsible for providing timely, efficient and effective high level administrative and executive support. It is accountable for the provision of a professional level of confidential secretarial and administrative support, including managing the day-to-day administrative needs, organising travel arrangements, diary management and the effective and accurate dissemination of information on behalf of the School Executive Team.
The position is also the line manager of School Officers administrating the establishment of staff and related payroll functions, general staff support, executive assistance to course consultative committees, a variety of projects including School event planning, VIP visits, study tours, web publications and co
- ordination of minor office related maintenance and projects as directed by the Operations Manager and Executive Dean.
Capabilities
Experience of supervising and developing staff and coordinating workloads.
Advanced minute taking and experience co-ordinating Executive level meetings;
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and co-ordinate multiple projects, in compliance with ECU and external policies, processes and standards;
The ability to work in a confidential environment and to exercise sound judgement and operate with tact and discretion;
Problem-solving and analytical capabilities, demonstrating the ability to manage and prioritise enquiries, and identify appropriate escalation points;
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, working collaboratively with others and ensuring the smooth-running of daily operations;
Proficient (intermediate to advanced) in the use of Microsoft Office suite;
Coordination of updates and publishing for the School internet/intranet site.

Benefits & Remuneration
This position attracts remuneration of $92,087 - $99,353 pa HEW 6 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
