We're currently seeking a dedicated and operationally focused Team Leader, Claims Processing to join our high-performing team in Adelaide. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for someone passionate about people management, operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of 15 to 20 staff, driving a performance culture that is both customer-centric and aligned with our business objectives. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, workforce planning, performance management, and coaching, while also playing a key role in delivering strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the function.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and support your team to meet and exceed individual and team KPIs through structured coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Foster a positive team culture focused on first-call resolution, customer satisfaction, and compliance
- Manage workflow queues and resourcing to meet service level agreements and business requirements
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive data-informed solutions for operational improvements and automation
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to build capability and engagement within your team
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Compliance, Process Design, and external stakeholders including providers and government bodies
- Analyse data and reporting to identify performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with Bupa's values and regulatory obligations
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Proven experience leading large operational teams in complex environments—preferably within health insurance, financial services, or banking
- Demonstrated ability to drive high performance through effective coaching and leadership
- Strong understanding of operational management, including resource planning, performance tracking, and workflow optimisation
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
- Experience in navigating regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
