We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Community Workers for ourSupported Independent Living Facility and the surrounding communityaround North and South Brisbane Area In this role, you will receive strongsupport, including professional supervision and ongoing assistance.
The Role
Evaluating clients' requirements and designing, developing, andexecuting educational, training, and support initiatives.
Conducting client interviews to determine the nature and scope of theirdifficulties.
Tracking and documenting clients' progress.
Evaluating community needs and available resources related to health,welfare, housing, employment, training, and other services.
Coordinating with community groups, welfare agencies, governmententities, and private businesses to address community issues andpromote awareness of available resources and services.
Directing clients to organizations that offer additional assistance.
Providing support to families and offering education and care forchildren and disabled individuals in adult service units, group homes,and government institutions.
Writing funding and resource proposals and reports for governmentbodies and other organizations.
Coordinates community development projects and collaborativesolutions to tackle issues, needs, and challenges related to recreation,health, housing, employment, and other welfare concerns.
Supervising individuals on probation and parole.
Helping young people address social, emotional, and financialchallenges.
Relevant Qualifications and Skills
Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Community Services or a related field, or three years of relevant experience in the absence of formal qualifications.
At least 2 years of industry experience, preferably in disability, mentalhealth, or aged care settings.
Ability to develop and maintain professional, supportive relationshipswith clients.
Strong knowledge of the NDIS and disabilities in Australia.
Current First Aid certificate.
Manual Handling certificate.
Current Australian Driver's Licence (preferred).
Good customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Proficient administrative and case management skills.
Outstanding communication and writing abilities.
Pay: From $73,500.00 per year
