**Fixed-term, permanent, full-time position based in Launceston for 12 months**

We are seeking a fixed-term, permanent full-time Practitioner in our Families, Children & Young People program for 12 months (76 hours fortnightly). The fixed-term position will conclude on the 28th August 2026.

Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.

**About the Role**:
The position will provide professional and exceptional community support services to clientele accessing Health and Wellbeing - Families, Children and Young People services provided by Anglicare in line with Anglicare’s Practice Principles and Framework of Practice.

The Supported Youth Program provides targeted support to children and young people aged 10 to 18 years old who are experiencing complex challenges and multiple risk factors. The program delivers a holistic and client-centred approach through case management, counselling, mediation, and tailored interventions.

With a strong focus on early intervention and positive engagement, this program works collaboratively with other services including education, Child Safety and Strong Families Safe Kids. The Supported Youth Program empowers young people by offering opportunities for growth, guidance, and direction—supporting them to build resilience, improve wellbeing, and achieve meaningful life outcomes.

**To be successful you will have**:

- An understanding of the processes people utilise to overcome adversity/distress arising from
life challenges.
- An ability to recognise and understand people’s intrinsic resourcefulness.
- Provide support in a manner consistent with Anglicare’s values and practice principle.
- Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills with people who access our services, family/carers, colleagues, other service providers and stakeholders.
- Ability to accurately document and maintain records.
- Demonstrated experience with relevant information and communication technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously within organisational policy and procedure.
- A high level of professionalism and a willingness to develop and reflect on professional
practice
- Ability to work in alignment with Anglicare’s workplace principles
- Knowledge in a broad range of disabilities and mental health areas and keenness to learn.
- Well-developed networking skills.

**The successful applicant will be required to**:

- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare-assessed medical:

- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver’s Licence.

On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
