**Your day as an Associate Director**
Our focus is on driving outcomes budgeting to deliver effective and impactful public spending. We support our partners to plan and deliver improved public services and major capital projects.
The Planning, Housing and Infrastructure branch within the Transport, Infrastructure, and Investment division provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Treasury and the Treasurer on government policy and budget proposals impacting the DPHI portfolio. It advises on major policy reforms related to planning, housing, lands, government property, and natural disaster recovery and mitigation. The branch collaborates with agencies and treasury colleagues to prepare the annual State Budget and the Half-Yearly Review, manages Treasury relationships with Executive and portfolio agencies, monitors the financial and performance metrics of these agencies and partners with them to foster a strong and sustainable NSW economy.
Your typical day-to-day in the Planning, Housing and Infrastructure branch, you will see you play a key leadership role within Treasury and the P&B team to deliver high-quality outcomes that underpin strategic project and policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
Your role will be to analyse and provide advice on policy, regulatory, financial and economic issues facing government agencies delivering infrastructure. This will involve establishing sound relationships with Treasury and agency contacts for the collaborative monitoring of performance and the implementation of change.
Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.
You will be joining our Policy and Budget Group and will be working within the Planning, Housing and Infrastructure team.

- Advanced financial literacy skills and a high level of experience in financial analysis and/or analysing complex policies from an economic perspective.
- Detailed understanding of the public sector environment and decision-making processes, providing public policy advice.
- Experience in leading, motivating, and managing a cohesive and high-performing team of professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise leadership, engage, negotiate, and influence in dealings with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding, or the demonstrated ability to develop an understanding, of the NSW Government’s policies and programs
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in public policy, economics, finance, accounting, law, business, or a related disciple.
