Sydney, Australia Turner & Townsend Full time

Company Description

At Turner & Townsend we’re passionate about making the difference; transforming performance on the world’s most impactful programs. This means delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people to realise their potential, and doing our part to create a green, inclusive and productive world.

Every day we help our major global clients deliver ambitious and highly technical projects, in over 118 offices worldwide.

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for talented and energetic people with experience in procurement, transaction management and contract management on major programs and projects to join our team.

We’re looking for people who have experience developing delivery strategies and managing contractors and supply chains on property construction (either commercial property or industrial property) and/or infrastructure construction (for example roads, rail, airports or utilities) projects. Your background may be in project management, quantity surveyor (QS), commercial/contract management or procurement roles on large capital programs and/or projects.

We are a high-performing team, which means that to be considered for a role with our team you will be confident in meeting or exceeding the characteristics outlined below.

**Job Description**:
This is a rare opportunity to build your career, your professional profile, and your own team within a world-leading professional services business.

As senior member within our Procurement and Contract Services team, your role will primarily focus on ‘hands-on’ strategy development and delivery with clients. Additionally, we will also be looking for you to participate in supporting (and contributing to the direction of) our future growth.

We are looking for multiple people to work with clients within our property construction and/or infrastructure segments. In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

- Developing robust contemporary procurement strategies for our clients’ major projects and programs, helping to assure successful project outcomes and reduce delivery risks.
- Transaction management on major capital projects, effectively setting up projects and programs for success by leading the procurement process. Such processes typically start with facilitating the finalisation of requirements, followed by market sounding and tendering, and through to the negotiation of commercial contracts, often in line with client gate/approval processes and probity requirements.
- Providing clients with expert contract management skills to support their projects, from initial contract set up through to managing variations and claims.
- Proactively building networks with other members of the Turner & Townsend team, and with our key clients in the region, becoming a trusted advisor on matters relating to procurement and contract management for capital projects.
- Working with clients on projects that are failing to perform as planned, to identify commercial and project controls solutions that will lead to effective project or program recovery.
- Contributing to Turner & Townsend’s vision and mission by developing proposals to address client challenges, creating innovative new service offerings, and prudent management of financial performance within your area of the business.

**Qualifications**:

- To fit in with our team and add value to our clients, we are looking for people who are the right cultural fit, have appropriate professional qualifications and can draw on relevant experience from previous roles and projects.
- Cultural fit is a key requirement for joining our team. You will be a self-starter, who is comfortable in turning ambiguous requirements and challenges into well-orchestrated solutions. There is a wealth of experience and support from the teams within Turner & Townsend, and you will be the sort of person that proactively seeks this out, engages with others, and learns from those around you.
- Your professional qualifications will be relevant to the world of procurement and major projects. This may include qualifications from CIPS, RICS, AIPM or other leading project management and quantity surveyor peak industry bodies.
- Well-organised, articulate, and able to create documents that are to a high standard in terms of both grammar and presentation, utilising contemporary Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Finally, from an experience perspective, your background will provide the necessary credibility to our teams and our clients to support your role as trusted advisor. This may come from holding senior project management, quantity surveyor (QS), commercial/contract management or procurement roles on large capital programs and/or projects. Ideally, these projects and programs will be associated with sectors such as property construction (either commercial property or industrial property) and/or infrastructure construction (for example roads, rail, airports or utilities).
- Experience in working in an advisory
