Australian Garnet is the owner of the newly constructed Lucky Bay mine, which has a thirty-year mine life.

The mine is located in the picturesque Lucky Bay area, 30 minutes drive from Kalbarri.

We supply premium garnet abrasives to the protective coating and waterjet cutting industries from our world class Lucky Bay operation.

The plant is majority commissioned and we own our mining fleet, as an owner miner.

We are looking to engage a local person in the role of HSE Coordinator.

Working 5 days per week with Saturday and Sunday off, preference will be given to being locally based in the Kalbarri or Geraldton region or a person who wants to work fly in / fly out for a period and once comfortable relocate the family into the region.

Being a little different to your run of the mill roles, we are looking to create high function, multi skilled team who can work from one end of the operation to the other.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Implementation of the site Health Safety & Environmental Management Plan (HSEMP) and associated procedures.
- Monitoring the status of corrective and preventative actions identified during inspections, safety meetings, pre-starts and hazard reports.
- Ensure HSEQ files & systems are maintained in accordance with Australian Garnet standards and accurate records are maintained and distributed.
- Delivery of Site Inductions and other non-accredited safety training.
- Assisting site personnel in the development of Job Hazard Analyses, Safe Work Method Statements and other safety and environment related documentation.
- Conducting regular inspections of all work areas, either independently or as part of an inspection team.
- Conducting behavioural observations & interventions in accordance with procedures.
- Assisting Leadership Team with the management of ill or injured employees; liaising with treating medical practitioners; developing and monitoring return to work & rehabilitation plans.

**Job Requirements**:
**To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate**:

- At least 5 years industry experience in a similar role in the mining or oil & gas sectors.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification or HSE/Quality Industry qualifications.
- Emergency response training
- Occupational First Aid trained.
- Training & Assessment qualification *desirable*.
