As a key member of the Creative Services team, the Visual Design Lead is responsible for the management and execution of the Department of Health's brand and developing creative design solutions to meet organisational needs.

The role leads the development, design and publishing of the department's key publications.

The role ensures the integrity of the organisation's visual brand and provides high level advice to stakeholders. The role will work with the Head of Creative Services, Head of Branch, Campaigns and Advertising, Marketing Director and teams across the department to manage and evolve the organisation's design and branding guidelines, including the development of tools, templates and design assets to support print and digital resources.

Leading a team of design professionals and liaising with external designers and agencies, the Visual Design Lead will effectively manage and balance priority work, stakeholder needs, and the delivery of high-quality creative products to enable achievement of the department's strategic objectives.

As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other portfolios to ensure effective media and communications services can be delivered by the Branch during emergency, crisis and peak periods.

**Accountabilities**:

- Lead and manage a small team of in-house designers and liaise with external designers and agencies.
- Lead the design and execution high quality publications, in accordance with the Victorian Government and departmental branding and visual style policies and guidelines, and ensuring work is delivered on time and on budget.
- Support the department's communications projects including the provision of specialist advice and information on graphic design, publishing and finished artwork.
- Drive innovative and continuous improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of communications services.
- Work collaboratively with other areas of the Communications and Engagement Branch to ensure the delivery of seamless and professional communications services for all areas of the department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the branch.
- Act as a change agent and support the change initiatives aligned to the department's corporate direction.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
