**About the role**:

The Office of Public Prosecutions is looking for Legal Trainees to join our team. This isn't your average legal role-it's a hands-on, pre-admission traineeship designed to immerse you in the world of criminal prosecution. You'll work on cases from the ground up, preparing and conducting matters in the Magistrates' and County Courts.

**What you'll do**:

- Gain real-world experience: You'll handle a wide variety of cases, from summary prosecutions to plea hearings and trials.
- Rotate through different teams: You'll have the chance to work across various divisions, building a comprehensive skill set in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with the best: Work alongside experienced solicitors, police, barristers, and other legal professionals, learning directly from their expertise.
- Make an impact: Engage with victims and witnesses, ensuring their voices are heard and contributing to the pursuit of justice.

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for conducting serious criminal prosecutions across Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Our team, consisting of over 475 skilled professionals, supports the work of the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor, and Crown Prosecutors.
