**The role**

Based in a suburb in the city of Brisbane, we are looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator to join this busy team Known for innovation, with locations across Australia, this leading manufacturer has a solid reputation in the food industry.

Reporting directly to The Head of Operations, your will be responsible for the management and overseeing of all Safety, Health and Environmental changes and improvements at the Colmslie site. Ensuring all incidents on site are reported, recorded, and correct follow up procedure is followed.

The role will partner with site leaders and the site safety team in creating a HSE learning culture that will help the site achieve zero harm - stay safe for life, reduces critical risk, and maintains a high level of engagement, as well as improvement in environmental KPIs.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Management of all safety changes and improvements on site
- Site point person to support End-to-end injury management including Workers Compensation
- Ensure that the trade waste system and wastewater discharge meets and conforms with the Colmslie trade waste licence and legislation.
- Lead by example on site safety, health, and environmental practices
- Drive the site principles and culture and the continuous improvement of Safety, Health and Environment by influencing and coaching key functional management
- Ensure all Colmslie employees are trained on appropriate safety and environmental matters
- Ensure site is compliant with all relevant industry and legal standards
- Identify improvements and opportunities in environmental processes
- Consult and communicate environmental and sustainability issues and information with stakeholders
- Leading the measurement, understanding and improvement in environmental KPIs including water usage, electricity usage, gas usage, and % waste to landfill
- Drive the Learning and Development capabilities by developing a strategy to support the deployment and delivery of training programs
- Define, plan, and assign all tasks associated with the implementation of program specific training delivery needs
- Develop and then manage Standard Ways of Work to conduct effective training

To be considered for this position, you must have;
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar related field
- Experience in HSE Coordinator role, preferably with experience in Food and Beverage Industry
- Risk assessment experience
- Auditing skills against relevant standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
- Developing and deliver reports and presentations
- Must be a team player with can do attitude.
- Proven ability to work within and lead teams
