**About the role**
In this role as the Governance Officer, you will provide professional and positive administrative support to the Manager Governance and the Governance division to efficiently and effectively coordinate and undertake specialised governance duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide general administrative support in the performance of functional duties and responsibilities to the Manager Governance and Governance division.
- Coordinate and supervise nominated meetings organised by Governance and provide full administrative support, including at some council business meetings held out of business hours.
- Make arrangements for all council business meetings including calendar management, preparation of agendas, preparation of reports, take minutes and organise catering, as required.
- Coordinate and manage diaries including the capture of council business requests, meetings and events.
- Create and maintain standard letters and templates and other information for the division.
- Support the Senior Governance Advisor in the administration of delegations and authorisations across the wider Council.
**About you**
- Qualifications in Business, Management, Administration or related field are desired.
- Strong IT capability with advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 and proven ability to utilise systems and software with ease.
- Highly developed professional communication skills including ability to proofread, edit for plain English skills and create presentations.
- A demonstrated commitment to customer service in ensuring all internal and external enquiries are serviced in a timely and customer-focussed manner.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads, working professionally with a high attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others to meet tight timelines.
