Hays Recruitment has partnered with a leading Federal Government Agency, who require an APS4 Payments Officer for their National Head Office in the heart of the Geelong CBD.

The role is Hybrid and works on a three days in the office two days from home model.

**Your new role**

The position will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Responsibilities include:

- Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests
- Work through and complete payment enquiries for internal and external stakeholders
- Processing manual payments to suppliers and clients
- Contribute to decision-making within the team/work area
- Consistently meeting team and individual work resolution targets
- Keeping updated on compliance and legislation
- Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making policies, guidelines and regulations

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Solid payments experience and resolving complex payment information
- Strong communication skills
- Strong understanding of payment processes and reconciliations
- Good systems and procedure skills
