Our sun-drenched, spacious outdoor deck provides the perfect setting for our customers and fellow food aficionados to enjoy a taste of Forestway. Enjoy an early morning brekkie or a power lunch, even treat the kids to some afternoon tea.

Being the foodies we are, we just had to try everything on the menu... and a few things twice, just to be sure

We are currently looking for a qualified **butcher** for a full-time position.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Skilfully prepare and process a variety of meats, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.
- Perform tasks such as cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning to meet requirements and quality standards.
- Demonstrate excellent knife handling skills and proficiency in using butcher equipment.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment, following all safety protocols.
- Monitor and manage meat inventory levels, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, conduct periodic stocktakes, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new cutting techniques, and meat processing innovations.
- Continuously develop and refine butchery skills to deliver high-quality products and improve efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- Certification or relevant qualification in butchery or meat processing.
- At least 2 years’ proven experience as a butcher or meat cutter, demonstrating proficiency in meat preparation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of different meat cuts, including primal and subprimal cuts.
- Excellent knife handling skills and ability to operate butcher equipment safely and efficiently.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP principles.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards for meat products.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

**Job Type**: Full Time
**Salary**: $70,000/year + superannuation
