This fixed term position is in the Design Studio of Museums Victoria, with exciting career prospects to grow and develop.
**ABOUT THE POSITION**:
The purpose of this position is to support the Spatial Design team in the development of design documentation for the production of three-dimensional built form. This role will assist with MV exhibitions projects, as well as associated programs, events and commercial outputs. The design documenter will work closely with the spatial design manager and exhibition designers, within a collaborative team environment.
**Some of the key duties include**:
- Assist the Design team to conceptualise, design and document content rich exhibition experiences, incorporating a variety of media.
- Produce design documentation of built form for permanent exhibitions, incoming touring exhibitions, temporary displays, or other projects, as required. This may include technical drawings, 3D renders, or physical scale models to a conceptual level.
- Produce full documentation design drawings for construction & tendering purposes to professional design industry standards.
- Under guidance, interpret project briefs and develop visitor experiences that appropriately engage targeted audiences and communicate the projects goals.
- Produce presentation materials for review by Designers, project teams, managers and relevant stakeholders.
**THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE**:
- Proven experience in documentation for the construction of exhibition or other related design projects. Proficiency with Rhino and AutoCAD is required.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of CAD design, 3D modelling and related technologies.
- Experience and demonstrated ability in exhibition design or other allied design field. Some experience in a design studio environment preferred.
- Highly developed conceptual and creative skills.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills in cross-disciplinary collaboration. Demonstrated cultural competency and experience in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with people at all levels.
**OTHER INFORMATION**:
This is a VPS3.2, Full-time, Fixed term position. The salary offered is $84,166 base of grade + 11.5% superannuation. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Police Records Check.
