**Job Description**:
The Research Infrastructure Project Officer will provide support to the Senior Research Infrastructure Project Officer and Dean (Research Infrastructure). This person will primarily focus on collating information in research infrastructure across the University, as an input to the development of the Research Infrastructure Portal, which is part of the Research Commons project.
The Research Infrastructure Project Officer will also support the Senior Research Infrastructure Project Officer and Dean (Research Infrastructure) on a range of projects to support university wide centralised and shared research infrastructure, including the development of an enhanced operations, management and governance model.
Key responsibilities and attributes of this position include:
- Contribute to the development of the Research Infrastructure Portal by:
- Conducting an extensive audit of the University’s research equipment, including liaison with facility and technical staff, to ensure the recording of accurate and up-to-date data in the Portal.
- Providing additional technical data for the Portal database including key words for searches, categories of equipment, consistent naming conventions, etc.
- Working with the Research Infrastructure Portal project team to develop a business process for maintaining and updating information in the Research Infrastructure Portal database.
- Contribute to projects aimed at improving the operations of centralised and shared research infrastructure, including consistent management and operations policy, financial sustainability, optimised utilisation and maintenance, and researcher cultural change. This will primarily involve working with a range of university professional and academic staff, to gather and analyse information on shared equipment and facilities, as well as contributing to strategic planning and execution.
- Contribute to the mapping and prioritising of future equipment and facility and research community needs, including replacement of ageing equipment and de-asseting of obsolete equipment.
- Leading by example with clear and effective communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Participating in other initiatives directed by the Dean Research Infrastructure.
This is a full-time, fixed term (two years) position based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University, you may be required to work across other campuses.
**Qualifications**:
The occupant of this position will hold a Masters Degree in science, or equivalent qualifications/ work experience including experience working in a research, teaching or commercial laboratory.
You will have at least three years demonstrated experience working in research, teaching and/or commercial laboratories at large institutions and be able to meet the Health and Safety requirements of a broad range of laboratory and technical spaces.
In particular, you will have a knowledge, or an ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of the different research facilities around Griffith, the types and usages of our research equipment, and the process to follow to gain access to the facilities.

**Salary Range**
The base salary for a Senior Research Assistant (Grade 1) is in the range $86,403 - $96,473 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $101,091- $112,873 per annum.
