**Engineering and Systems Manager**

**About us**

Independent Timber Supplies PTY LTD are a medium sized business located 30 minutes south of Perth that supplies and manufactures building products.

We are looking for a pro-active, experienced, and detail-oriented person to join our team to review and implement changes to business processes across various business departments. This is a full-time position.

This role will involve working closely with senior management.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Initially, to review and evaluate the current engineering/design/production control software, systems, and processes, including their integration with all business departments with a view to improving the way the business operates
- Evaluate the design and engineering software platform running the manufacturing and prefabrication business as well as the distribution business and research the available integrated modules to benefit overall business systems
- Working with senior management to understand and establish business requirements, strategies and priorities and ensuring they comply with the construction industry code and safety standards
- Detail proposals to the senior management team, establish scope of work and manage its implementation, as necessary.
- Overall responsibility for the development and deployment of systems strategies, policies and plans, whether human resources or technology based, including data integrity and continuity across software/systems throughout the business
- Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of above-mentioned solutions
- Project manage, schedule, budget, create technical specifications and interpret engineering and process drawings and details
- Advise on modern and developing methods and engineering technologies in the automated off-site manufacturing industry to improve manufacturing capability
- Become the ‘go-to’ person for engineering, design, factory control and fabrication and any other related systems and software, including training, development, and documentation
- Assist to develop, then implement and coordinate software engineering systems supplied by 3rd parties as necessary
- Managing CAD/CAM data creation and data flow processes and databases
- Responsible for hardware and software maintenance plans and schedules
- Research and development activities within, but not limited to, the off-site timber frame prefabrication plant

**Experience**:

- 5 years relevant experience in the building and construction industry (preferably for a building products supplier, or manufacturer)
- Engineering degree or equivalent third level qualification
- Demonstrated technical and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills and be methodical
- Excellent communicator and be able to manage stakeholder expectations
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
