Role Summary

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Executive Officer - Executive General Manager Corporate.

You will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

Role Description & Responsibilities

The Executive Officer to the Executive General Manager Corporate (EGMC) provides critical support and is a key conduit to all areas of ACT Policing and external stakeholders.

The Executive Officer will source, compile and deliver briefings, internal and external communications, and stakeholder consultations. It will ensure the smooth running of the EGMC office and provide both tactical and strategic advice on matters of relevance to community policing in the ACT.

**The principle role of the Executive Officer is to**:
Supervise and work with the Executive Assistant to EGMC;
Represent EGMC interests with key internal and external stakeholders;
Develop and maintain a network of relationships across the AFP and ACT Government;
Contribute to ACT Policing's accountability to ACT Government and the community;
Draft internal and external communications and briefings on ACT Policing matters;
Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks;
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including high level writing, editing and presentation skills;
Manage the coordination and input requests into the EGMC office from across the Command and other stakeholders to ensure that ACT Policing Corporate Services contributes accurate and appropriate advice as required;
Build, sustaining and influence positive working relationships;
Work independently and as part of a broader administrative team to achieve results and ensure the division effectively contributes to department priorities;
Manage and coordinate input into key meetings and follow up on action items;
Undertake small projects or reviews for EGMC.
Essential Requirements

Suitable employees will possess the following essential requirements, experience and skills:
You must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
A high attention to detail.
Aptitude for strategic and lateral thinking.
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and the ability to foster productive working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Previous experience in an Executive Officer role.
