**About the role**

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled **Financial Analyst - Development & Joint Ventures** to join the Santos team. Based at our offices in Brisbane, this position reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for providing accurate and insightful financial information and analysis to leadership on capital expenditure and activity, ensuring analysis provides a clear understanding of financial performance, decisions and cost drivers.

This role is part of a centralised Financial Services team that provides Joint Venture accounting services to all finance operations across Santos.

Key responsibilities:

- Partner with key stakeholders to perform month-end accounting including preparation of journals, review of results and complete appropriate integrity checks prior to ledger close
- Govern and complete financial master data requests for new capital projects and new joint venture arrangements
- Generate monthly reporting packs for internal management review meetings
- Assist with monthly Joint Venture reporting reviews and cash calls
- Assist with relevant Asset capex budgets and forecasts
- Assist with Joint Venture budgets, forecasts and associated AFEs
- Provide support for joint venture audit including provision of detailed transaction data, locating supporting documents and investigation of queries
- Partner with Fixed Asset Accountant to provide a detailed analysis of completed projects and request for asset capitalisation
- Contribute to half-year and year-end reporting requirements to Group Finance as requested
- Generate financial information required to be reported to governments on annual spend against minimum expenditure commitments.
- Identify and support projects focused on improvement to decision making processes and systems
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines
- Understand team purpose and role accountabilities that need to be delivered

**About you**
- Proficiency in the use of financial software along with advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
- Strong attention to detail

Additionally, any experience in the following will be looked upon favourably:

- Strong SAP experience
- Experience within large commercial organisations such as oil and gas, resources, construction, manufacturing, defence or similar an advantage.
- Understanding of Joint Venture business arrangements and accounting
