**This role is open to Melbourne and Sydney locations on a 12 month fixed term.
**The Role**
The purpose of the Financial Crimes Analyst role is to action daily analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions and support the service delivery of Fraud processes. This covers both internal and external fee for service tasks, regular member and investor contact and establishing strong working relationships across the business and driving continues process and procedural improvements. This role is critical to the MUFG Pension & Market Services and is focused on ensuring that we protect our clients, their customers, and MUFG from the negative impacts of financial crime.
**Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities**
- Contribute to MUFG’s broader fraud mitigation strategies by conducting daily ALERT assessments and subsequently making informed decisions on appropriate fraud prevention measures for each account analysed.
- Strive continuously for process improvement and efficiency through the use of technology.
- Efficiently and effectively utilise all fraud mitigation tools and in-house systems to make informed decisions on individual member/investor transactions and activities.
- Make outbound calls to members/investors as required.
- The Financial Crimes team collaborates with governance and risk areas internally according to MUFG’s internal Risk and Financial Crimes policies and with our clients and government regulators. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of superannuation, as well as Fraud/AML/CTF legislation and mitigation.Participate in issue/risk management by actively engaging in the process. Identify and prioritise issues/risks, develop strategies and controls, and escalate to governance bodies as necessary.
**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Exemplary communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, especially in conducting outbound calls to members/investors and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical capabilities and creativity in formulating strategies to identify and address ALERT/potentially fraudulent transactions, ensuring precise assessments and decisions
- Comprehensive understanding of superannuation and fraud AML/CTF legislation
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical and procedural documentation
- Experience in gathering and analysing business requirements is advantageousAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.) and structured analysis tools and techniques
