We’re part of a global brand, but here in WA we’re your local not-for-profit, passionate about empowering young people. It might sound like a big claim, but it’s what we do every day. Just ask the amazing young people who come to our services across WA. Many of them will tell you about The Base in Belmont — our youth centre for 11-25 year olds that runs activities, workshops, and programs to support and connect them.

Right now, we’re looking for an experienced Youth Worker to join the team at The Base until June 20th, 2026 (with the possibility of extending). Maybe you’re ready to step up into a more leading role in the youth/community/social services space, or you love designing engaging programs alongside young people.

**What you’ll be doing**:
Your week will include a lot of variety: two days are based at the local high school, engaging young people in programs, providing support to disengaged students, and working closely with school staff, while the other two days are spent at the drop-in centre, focusing on planning programs and engaging with young people. You’ll also research, plan, deliver, and review programs that inspire and support them while building their social skills.

You will have a lot of independence in this role, working with young people to design relevant programs and workshops to meet the communities needs. A lot of the work you do will be working in groups either at the school or in our drop in space. By the end of your shift, you’ll head home knowing you’ve made a real difference in the lives of young people, and that’s something to feel proud of.

**Your weekly work schedule**:
Monday: 9.30 - 5.30

Tuesday: 10.30- 6.30

Wednesday: 8.30-4.30 (Some flexibility)

Thursday: 8.30-4.30 (Some flexibility)

**You’ll be great in this role if you**
- Have a Cert IV (or greater) in Youth Work, Education, Community Work, Social Work or other relevant discipline and equivalent experience
- Hold a C class driver’s license.
- Have a National Police Clearance and WA Working with children check card or willingness to obtain
- Have a minimum of two years experience
- Can obtain a HLTAID003 First Aid certificate
- Can obtain a Food Handling/Safety Certificate (Desirable)
