Opportunity to Transition from Financial Reporting to Budgets/Costing/Management

**About Our Client**:
We have partnered with a Department focused on the sustainability of roles, the workforce and the greater good of Australians. This department has many new initiatives and targets to ensure continual change and growth within the APS.

The role includes a variety of;
- ** External budgets**, including the development of new policy proposal costings, estimates adjustments.
- **Internal budgets**, including supporting the development of the Commission's internal budget each year and supporting business areas to understand their budget allocations. Will also be involved in strategic discussions around budget transfers and re-aligning forecasted expenditures where they go awry.
- **Management accounting**, including financial modelling for costs and revenues associated with a significant portion of the Department's business that generates ~$20 million in external revenue each year.
- **Briefing**. Including preparation of papers for the Commission's Executive Board, financial matters considered by the whole-of-government Secretaries' Board, Senate Estimates.
- Stakeholder engagement with central agencies, and agencies partnering on NPPs and other Cabinet Submissions.
- Will also be involved in strategic discussions around budget transfers and re-aligning forecasted expenditures.

**The Successful Applicant**:

- High Performing APS 4s & 5s looking for a promotion are encouraged
- S26 or Secondments are highly encouraged in order to add to a diverse skill-set
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders
