Our client a Global Oil and Gas Major Operator in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Local Content Specialist to join them for a 2-year contract.

**Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
90% Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement Support, Advice, Approvals and Reporting.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Major Capital Projects (MCPs) and/or Operations with the following objectives:

- Work with contract/procurement personnel and contract owner and other relevant internal stakeholder representatives to enhance effectiveness of AIP process/procedure implementation and achievement of Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement actions/outcomes throughout the contracting process, including post award.
- Work with Corp / External Affairs to communicate with external stakeholders (contractors and suppliers, industry association and other partners and government) on AIP/Aboriginal Business opportunities and actions/outcomes.
- Support and enable external supplier events
- Actively participate and coordinate supplier audits to ensure compliance with Modern Slavery / Human Rights legislation, AIP Compliance, NTA compliance/
- Assist Category Management to identify areas of opportunity to enhance Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement actions/outcomes within SCM activities.
- Ensure reporting of Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement actions/outcomes is conducted and seek and pursue opportunities for improving reporting of actions/outcomes.
- Support and facilitate external and internal engagement with business partners and government stakeholders.

10% Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement Support and Advice
- Actively participate in team meetings to enhance understanding of Operations SCM process/procedure and understanding by wider team of AIP/NLC plans, process/procedure and actions/outcomes to enhance cross team support.
- Actively collaborate cross functionally and through community of practices to enhance effectiveness of AIP/NLC planning and delivery, including effectiveness of AIP Local Content/Aboriginal Contracting / Sustainable and Ethical Procurement process/procedure and achievement of actions/outcomes.
- Assist as directed with cross-functional team engagement in defining team strategy, planning and delivery to enhance outcomes and cross-functional support.

**This role is required to**:

- Identify opportunities for Australian industry (including small, regional and Aboriginal business);
- Align procurement and contracting process/procedure to maximize opportunity for Australian industry;
- Assist with initiatives enhancing the capability of businesses; and
- Assist PGPA to engender external stakeholder support for AIP/NLC implementation and actions/outcomes.

**Key Skills and Experience Required**:

- A minimum of 5-10 years experience in a similar role with demonstrable local industry capability knowledge;
- Sound understanding of the Australian Oil and Gas industry and the processes and procedures within;
- Experience in dealing with small, regional and Aboriginal businesses;
- Solid knowledge of government, contracting and general supply chain processes;
- Experience in preparation and co-ordination of clear and concise reporting;
- Experience in public speaking and community engagement;
- Good interpersonal skills and team player capabilities; and
- Confident and clear communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience in local content / supplier diversity / building business capability.
- Experience in coordination of external stakeholder engagements.
- Experience working with small and minority businesses, experience in working with traditional owner groups
