**About the role**
Due to an internal promotion, we have a vacancy for a Fleet Procurement and Asset Officer. In this position, you will become part of the dynamic team within the Fleet Services Branch. You will play a crucial role in managing the procurement, acquisition, and disposal of fleet assets, ensuring they meet the needs of the City of Ipswich.

**Some of your key responsibilities will include**:
- Identify and model the total cost of fleet assets throughout their lifecycle, including the identification and prioritisation of future asset requirements, in support of the corporate planning and annual budget process
- Manage and monitor the process involved in the disposal of all surplus fleet assets to ensure that appropriate audit trails are maintained, and actions are undertaken to comply with Council policy and procedures
- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders for the procurement of all new and replacement light vehicles in accordance with Council policy and procedures
- Provide administrative support and advice for procurement functions, working to facilitate and maintain procurement processes, records, and tools

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with demonstrated capability to effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of the factors influencing costs of fleet management
- Substantial knowledge of financial concepts including computer-based whole of life costings and budgets
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Substantial knowledge of asset management practices and processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial and purchasing practices and policies
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check will be required for this role.
