Located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo is a 700-acre property of which 110 acres are on display to the public. From humble beginnings, it now employs over 500 staff and outside of the zoo also is involved in multiple conservation projects, crocodile research, Wildlife Warriors (not for profit) and ongoing education programs.

**About the role.**
The Chief Retail Officer (CRO) plays a pivotal part in overseeing the customer service departments which include several retail outlets, warehouses and an eCommerce platform (which has a large overseas market).
This role is rare as it not only has responsibility for classic retail areas such as inventory levels, new product development, merchandising and presentation but also oversee all areas of customer service.
Reporting into the Executive leadership of Australia Zoo, you will drive all retail activity that will include;
- Provide financial forecast updates.
- Analysing and presenting key risk indicators.
- Constantly seeking to innovate in order to develop new revenue streams.
- Driving marketing campaigns to support retail growth.
- Manage all eCommerce activity.
- Drive high performance in your team (retail and warehousing).
- Use best practice of technology for maximum operational efficiency.
- Strategic management of stock control and liaising with the ELT around innovative retail products and offerings (both physical and online).
- Financial accountability including management of the budget.
- Lead and organise the team including rostering and coaching.
**About the person.**
You will be an experienced Retail professional that has a background in operating and leading in a busy retail environment where the physical and online sales are equally important.
You should enjoy the challenge of constantly innovating and being aware that your retail market varies from domestic to international and with different demographics all of whom prefer a different type of retail experience.
You should also be comfortable in overseeing warehousing particularly in terms of stock and inventory control and ensuring that the site is operating as efficiently as possible.
