**Your role**
- We’re seeking two Compliance Officers to join our team responsible for the registration, monitoring, and regulation of community housing providers across New South Wales. This vital work ensures the delivery of safe, quality housing services to the people we serve, in line with the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) and the NSW Local Scheme, covering over 269 registered Community Housing Providers.
**What you’ll do**
- You will monitor, license, investigate, or audit internal and external service providers to ensure compliance with relevant acts and regulations. This ensures a consistent standard of service delivery, protecting vulnerable communities and ensuring the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) meets its obligations for service quality and ethical conduct. You will also be responsible for:
- Undertaking enforcement actions in consultation with senior staff, including issuing compliance or penalty notices and preparing for legal proceedings, such as evidence gathering and court appearances.
- Providing timely and evidence-based advice, reports, briefing notes, and other documentation to support decision-making and compliance activities.
- Providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders to develop capability and improve their understanding of compliance requirements.
- Contributing to the development and refinement of policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance regulatory outcomes and service quality.
- Analysing compliance data to identify trends and systemic issues, informing continuous improvement of service delivery and regulatory practice.
- Collaborate with DCJ divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between program development, planning, service design, and policy implementation.
**What we’re looking for**
- Experience in compliance, investigations or audit functions within a government or service delivery context.
- Ability to assess risk, interpret complex information, and use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefings.
- Ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including service providers and internal teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical behaviour and delivering fair and balanced regulatory outcomes.
