About the role*
This unique role is the Technical Advisor for the Drilling and Completions function at Santos. The position provides independent engineering and operations support for the operating asset Drilling and Completions teams. The Technical Advisor will develop, monitor, review and maintain relevant corporate Drilling and Completions Technical Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure Santos Drilling and Completions Technical Standards are maintained in line with industry standard updates and are fit for purpose for Santos operations.
- Review and approve any proposed deviations from the D&C Technical Standards.
- Lead Drilling and Completions assurance reviews as part of the Drilling and Completions Management Process (DCMP).
- Participate in Risk Assessments, and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews.
- Lead technical and high potential event investigations as required.
- Provide timely closeout of assigned safety, environment, or technical investigation actions.
- Review and approve well designs as required by internal or state or government regulatory bodies.
- Complete audits to measure and verify compliance with the DCMP and the D&C Technical Standards.
- Lead the Drilling and Completions graduate program and provide discipline mentoring of Drilling and Completions Engineers within the company.

About you*
You will have significant experience in Drilling and Completions, in both onshore and offshore environments, and across a variety of basins and assets. It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of the relevant technical standards and regulatory framework relating to the Oil and Gas Industry in the locations which we operate.
