**Head of Westpac Wire** - **Hybrid Working Model: 3 Office Days**: - **Sydney, NSW** **How will I Help?** This role has primary responsibility for the editorial direction and success of Westpac Wire, Westpac’s well respected external digital news platform. Since 2017, this unique corporate news site has been successfully nurtured to deliver on its aim of surfacing up important and engaging news, ideas, and expertise of people both within and external (but connected) to the bank. It’s become a central source of trusted and shareable stories to enhance the bank’s reputation, engage audiences, help Westpac's 40,000 employees act as advocates, and provide rich pickings to ‘opinion seekers’ on expert insight into banking industry and social trends. The audience is diverse (as diverse as the bank's customer base), and stories are "targeted" to segments. In addition to providing editorial direction, this is a hands-on role in sourcing news, writing, editing, presenting yarns, continuing to build on the success of the platform, while also coaching other team members across the bank to add to the platform’s success. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled. **What do I need?** - A proven and established journalist and editorial leader with 10 + years’ experience. - Experience in financial and investment related publications or media segments. - _Preferred _ - Deep understanding of banking sector, broader economy, and the stock market, with superior written and verbal communication and a strong level of commercial awareness. - Experience in variety of formats - across opinion articles, news articles, features, video stories and podcasts. - Worked successfully within large organisations with complex structures, and with proven senior stakeholder management. - Experience in using a CMS to publish content. - Interest in a wide range of topics with an ability to adapt tone of voice and approach. - Strategic thinking, flexibility, ability to respond to short deadlines, operates independently and effectively in an unstructured work environment. - Ability to build and manage strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and business partners and a proactive team player who collaborates with others to achieve goals. - An ability to manage legal and risk elements involved in publishing. - Experience in digital publishing - writing, editing, user experience, delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of platforms. **What is it like to work there? **We aim to provide one big, supportive team of people who love helping others succeed.
