**THE ROLE**:
We currently require casual Mental Health & Disability Support Workers available for Supported Independent Living & Community clients based in Greater Brisbane area. This role will involve:
- Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful working relationships with our clients, their circle of support and the community.
- Assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans that enable our clients to set and achieve personal goals.
- Facilitating community inclusion and participation and supporting our clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.
- Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
- Providing personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the personal plan.
**ABOUT YOU**:
You will have a passion for working with people with disabilities with an understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice.
Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability services industry and an ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts, with a variety of clients.
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support.
- Completion of the NDIS worker Orientation Module.
- Experience with Manual Handling.
- Reliable transportation for Community Access & Participation.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License.
- Current National Police Check or willing to obtain.
- Current positive notice Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Disability Services Positive Exemption Notice Card (Yellow Card).
**MINIMUM 2 YEARS' EXPERIENCE**:
- Complex behaviours/High needs - essential.
- Intellectual Impairment - essential.
