**The Role**

The Environmental Adviser will play an integral part supporting for all project environmental approvals and operational requirements with data management, report and figure preparation and development of EP’s and approval documentation.

You will report directly to the Principal Advisor for our Energy team, and assist with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process to ensure the timely delivery of regulatory approvals meet our project requirements, whilst supporting environmental compliance and reporting activities as required.

You will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and you will have the ability with joining a great team culture and further develop your career pathway.

**Key deliverables**:

- Assist Principal Advisor (Energy) with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process to ensure the timely delivery of regulatory approvals under Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act, Petroleum Pipelines Act, Parts IV and V of State environmental legislation as well as the Federal EPBC Act, as required.
- Assistance in development of Scope of Works/Request for Quotation documentation and mobilisation for consultants
- Build on GIS capabilities to support environmental approvals and reporting functions.
- Developing and reviewing documents and supporting materials
- Involvement in audits and other environmental compliance functions
- Collation of key required information (inclusive of developing requests for information to send to team leads, project engineers and external consultants)
- Review of project documentation against EPBC/EPA/DWER/DMIRS policy and guidelines
- Participation in team meetings and project meetings as required.
- Aligns workplace systems and processes with MinRes systems and processes.

**What you’ll bring to the team**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science / Engineering or related field
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as law, planning, environment, geology, commerce or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years in an operational environmental or consulting role related to energy or mining Sector
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of environmental legislation, guidelines and standards
- Experience in assessing project approvals and operational risks
- Understanding of project/operational environmental risks
- Excellent organisational and document management skills
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and negotiating with external stakeholders.
- Great attention to detail and organisation skills.
- A proactive approach with outstanding interpersonal communication skills
- Advance Microsoft Excel skills
