**The Role**
The Environmental Manager works with considerable independence planning and leading very complex environmental management work in the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group.
The Environmental Manager will work within a framework of legislation and policies to build and deliver an environmental management system for the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group.
The position will take the initiative for developing CASG environmental policy and practice, reviewing performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The Environmental Manager is expected to initiate and maintain strong relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders.

The Directorate of Health Safety and Environment is responsible for the delivery of group work health and safety and environment governance, policy and processes; specialist advice and support; assurance; and continuous improvement projects.
- Experience developing and delivering an environmental management system in a large complex organisation;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to consult and cooperate with stakeholders;
- Strong written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to prepare high quality reports, briefings and committee papers.
