A rewarding role for a Portfolio Analyst

Coliban Water provides water, sewage and reclaimed water services to 49 towns in North Central Victoria. Based in beautiful Bendigo, we are one of the largest Victorian regional urban water corporations.

To meet the challenges of climate change, aging assets and regional growth, we are working across a pipeline of strategic initiatives to uplift our capability and ways of working. We need to set ourselves up to undertake a significant infrastructure build and to continually improve the value we deliver to our customers.

So, we’re building an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to drive the establishment of project portfolio practices to redefine how Coliban Water makes strategic investment decisions.

To help us, we’re looking for an experienced Portfolio Analyst as we begin to embark on major projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the organisations project management initiatives and driving the successful delivery of Coliban Water’s strategy.

The role will require the ability to provide expertise and guidance in effective portfolio and project/program governance and frameworks, identifying portfolio risks and issues and monitoring portfolio and project performance through performing detailed analysis on data and trends.

A snapshot of your day

**As our Portfolio Analyst you’ll be accountable for**:

- Designing and implementing analysis across the entire portfolio pipeline
- Participating in the development of portfolio management processes
- Assist in the development of a prioritisation model that enables effective decision making that is aligned to strategy
- The organisation and maintenance of all change initiatives
- Ensuring that there is alignment between portfolio, strategy and business planning activities
- Establishing and managing portfolio resource availability and undertaking capacity planning
- Providing guidance and coaching on Project Portfolio Management processes, methodologies, tools and controls to improve overall portfolio and project delivery performance

Ours is a tight-knit team with a great culture. First and foremost, we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for the water and wastewater sector, has the ability to establish positive working relationships with all levels of staff and a strong attention to detail.

To be considered for the role you’ll be tertiary qualified in Business, IT or Project Management, have demonstrated experience as a project manager or PMO Analyst, knowledge in risk management principles, and looking to grow your career in an organisation doing work that matters to its community.
