Security Systems Maintenance Officer

**About the role**

This position is responsible for overseeing the technical and routine maintenance of Council’s security and city safety infrastructure and systems including CCTV, Intercoms, Access controls and alarms. This position will provide first line support for these systems, technical and routine maintenance and escalate repairs to Council’s nominated contractors where required. This position will oversee and implement routine testing of security equipment and supervise Council’s electronic security contractors as required.

On a daily basis you will:

- Maintain an expert knowledge of electronic security and surveillance systems, including IP CCTV.
- Contribute to the planning and development of Council’s City Safe CCTV network, including expansion of Council’s optic fibre network.
- Routine maintenance of CCTV, Intercoms, IP, Access controls and alarms.
- Fault finding, firmware and software upgrades and commissioning of cameras and security systems, including servers, network switches and wireless access points.
- Ensure all servers, workstations, and software are maintained and up to date with all firmware and software upgrades and patches applied.
- Work with Council’s cyber security team to ensure that cyber security best practice is applied to security and CCTV systems.
- Work with Council’s ICT Team and external technical support services to resolve technical issues and faults in CCTV and Security Systems.
- Programming of electronic security systems, including Video Management Systems, Access Control systems, video analytics programs and other security related programs.
- Manage external contractors and integrators engaged in providing CCTV and electronic security services.
- Attend various Council sites across Parramatta LGA as required to review and extract CCTV footage from stand-alone VMS systems.
- Develop a program to manage and evaluate performance of security assets and systems to ensure best practice facilities security through systematic servicing, maintenance and replacement and maintenance of associated documentation for all City facilities.
- Contribute to the development of standards and guidelines for the design, purchase, installation, use and maintenance of physical protective measures.
- Implement and maintain a security assets management system to manage Council’s security and CCTV assets across all sites. Conduct regular audits.
- Contribute to the financial management of the unit by providing advice to the manager regarding asset lifecycles and forecasting, capital expenditure and licensing requirements for both software and hardware.
- Report and escalate any issue to senior management as required.
- Monitor security status and alerts, respond as necessary and make recommendations to improve and implement system-wide changes to enhance overall system proficiency.
- Manage assigned tasks to meet time, service and quality objectives.
- Respond to technical problems and requests for support or information.
- Accurately report to stakeholders on progress and updates of assigned activities

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work autonomously. Your proven problem-solving skills will ensure your success in maintaining a security assets management system to manage City of Parramatta's security and CCTV assets across all sites.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial electronic security equipment (Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intercom systems).
- Experience with Milestone Corporate VMS and Protégé GX Access Control Systems will be highly regarded.
- Experience in IPCCTV is required.
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding, performing firmware and software upgrades and commissioning of cameras and security systems, including servers, network switches and wireless access points.
- Proven skills in auditing and evaluating performance of security assets and systems and maintenance of associated documentation.
- Implement and maintain a security assets management system to manage Council’s security and CCTV assets across all sites.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IP networking.
- Class 2C NSW Security Licence.
- Class 1E NSW Security License.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
- NSW Open Cabler’s Licence. (preferred)
- Protégé GX Certification (preferred)
- NX Witness Certification (preferred)
- Milestone VMS Certification (preferred)

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from Salary $86,409.73 to $95,156.96 (salary) + 10.5% Superannuation.

In addition
