**About the role**

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Policy Project Officer to join our School and Teaching Standards Division. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of NSW’s education policy landscape supporting high-impact projects and making a tangible difference in the education sector.

Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you will plan and coordinate the implementation of projects relating to the Work Program for the School and Teaching Standards Division, and support Agency and Government initiatives.

This role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to build strong professional networks across the agency and beyond.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

- Contributing to the coordination and monitoring of the projects to be delivered in the Division’s Work Program
- Assisting in the planning, tracking and reporting of project timelines, milestones and deliverables using project management tools
- Preparing briefing notes, discussion papers, reports and Ministerial correspondence that are accurate, timely and aligned with government direction
- Supporting effective stakeholder engagement through the coordination of consultations, workshops and working groups
- Conducting research and synthesising findings to inform policy advice, reporting and evaluation activities
- Strong writing skills with experience drafting government briefings, policy papers and Ministerial correspondence
- Strong understanding of project management principles and confidence using digital tools to plan, monitor and report on progress
- A collaborative and responsive working style, with demonstrated success building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt quickly to emerging needs
- State government experience with an interest in contributing to better outcomes for teachers and students in NSW
