**Primary Purpose of Position**:
The Post Technical and Operations Lead serves as the primary communication conduit between field and post-production departments, ensuring an efficient workflow and technical compatibility. They are responsible for planning staff resources, technical requirements and facilities, and ensuring each Program captures vision in a first class quality as creatively required by the Executive Producers and the Company, and in a format that optimizes the efficient workflow between field and post.

In addition, the Post Technical and Operations Lead is responsible for budgeting and resource allocation during the development phase to ensure each Program is delivered on time as technically required and within budget, along with managing all technical operations of the production business.

Overall, this position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of post-production supervisors, edit assistants and other post-production professionals.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Oversight of all technical operations for all productions to ensure recording formats are compatible with post production workflow and schedule requirements.
- Provide feedback to Executive Producers during development and pre-production on recording formats, budget implications, schedule implications and provide alternative solutions to ensure more efficient workflows and budgets.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of multiple shooting formats and different cameras.
- Capable of budgeting and managing field and post facility requirements.
- Manage all technical operations for production.
- Develop and leverage relationships with third parties to secure the best rates and infrastructure for the Company’s program operational requirements. This includes outside broadcast suppliers, equipment hire suppliers, post production houses, graphics companies and animators.
- Able to understand, break down and negotiate deals with third parties.
- A comprehensive understanding of outside broadcast, control room and audio setups.
- Creating, documenting and implementing all workflows for field operations.
- Liaise with Executive Producer to ensure formats, cameras, lighting, etcetera provide the best outcome for post, the production, and financial and creative targets.
- Negotiating all deals for production operation requirements ensuring all elements are captured in quotes and are per budget.
- Ensuring knowledge base is up-to-speed with industry best practice and the latest technologies.
- Contribute to budgeting of shows by providing recommendations on post timelines, production operational requirements and infrastructure requirements and costs.
- Manage post production workflows, schedules, budgets, and operations staff for multiple programs simultaneously.
- Collaborate with Executive Producers to ensure that the final product meets their vision and expectations.
- Manage the Post Production Supervisors to ensure the editing process, including the review and approval online, audio sweetening and both domestic and international deliverable requirements.
- Manage and train Post Production Supervisors and edit assistants.
- Work collaboratively with the IT and Engineering department to plan technical resources for post production workflows.
- Collaborate with the Workflow Assistant to ensure that all equipment and software is up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Allocate and manage all post facilities and technical resources with a remit to maximize WB internal revenue and recharges.
