About the Role

The City of Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Insurance Portfolio Manager to lead and develop a small team of professionals who apply specialist knowledge and provide strategic and tactical advice in relation to diverse insurance classes and matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the City's insurance portfolio, including the effective management and understanding of insurance risk for Council.
  • Assist the General Manager in leading the General Insurance business unit for the City of Gold Coast Council.
  • Drive the strategy and continuous improvement of a general insurance portfolio, preferably in a major public sector department or local government.
  • Manage risk and ensure effective insurance coverage for the City of Gold Coast Council.
  • Analyse insurance data to identify trends, costs, drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience as an Insurance Leader to manage our insurance portfolio and lead our efforts in risk management, claims handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Deep understanding of insurance across various classes, including public liability, property insurance, professional indemnity, motor vehicle, and other various classes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
