Job Title: Director of Government Transparency and Compliance
The Queensland Government is seeking a Director to lead our unit responsible for managing Right to Information (RTI) applications. This is a once in a career opportunity for an experienced leader who can expertly navigate the sensitivities and complexities associated with RTI.
As the head of our unit, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee the management of RTI applications to the department, the Office of the Premier, and the department's portfolio bodies under the Right to Information Act 2009. You will also drive the implementation of changes introduced by the Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing RTI applications for the department, the Office of the Premier, and the department's portfolio bodies
- Providing strategic leadership and expert advice on RTI obligations
- Overseeing privacy activities, including complaints under the IP Act and reported breaches of the IP Act
- Driving the implementation of changes introduced by the Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023
To be successful in this role, you will draw on your prior experience as a team leader and an RTI decision-maker. You will lead, develop, and coach a team of practitioners to make and supervise defensible decisions under the RTI Act.
