About The Team

The Governance and Performance team plays a critical role in enabling the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) to deliver its objectives with confidence, integrity, and measurable impact. By integrating governance, risk management, planning, and performance frameworks, the team ensures QRA operates in alignment with legislative requirements, government priorities, and organisational goals.

Through structured oversight, transparent reporting, and proactive risk management, the team supports informed decision-making, prioritisation, and continuous improvement. Our focus is on making governance accessible and practical, fostering a culture where compliance and accountability are embedded into QRA\'s operations, and empowering teams across the organisation to achieve meaningful outcomes for Queensland communities.

About The Role

The Governance and Performance team plays a critical role in enabling the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) to deliver its objectives with confidence, integrity, and measurable impact. By integrating governance, risk management, planning, and performance frameworks, the team ensures QRA operates in alignment with legislative requirements, government priorities, and organisational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of QRA\'s governance, risk management, planning, and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate governance, committee operations, delegations, and decision-making frameworks to support organisational integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee the enterprise risk management framework, including risk reporting and fraud prevention activities.
  • Drive the development and delivery of QRA\'s operational planning framework, ensuring alignment with the Financial Accountability Act, Performance Management Framework Policy and whole-of-government priorities.
  • Support facilitation of executive and business engagement in planning and prioritisation activities.
  • Oversee the development and application of performance frameworks, KPIs, and reporting cycles to monitor progress against strategic goals.
  • Manage the integration of governance, risk, planning, and performance data into reporting dashboards and ensure alignment with external expectations (e.g., Treasury, Queensland Audit Office, Public Sector Commission).
  • Oversee committee and secretariat functions, ensuring effective governance support, timely reporting, and alignment with records management obligations.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audit matters, ensuring integration with risk and governance activities.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan and associated testing and readiness activities.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, risk awareness, and performance accountability through training, guidance, and tools that build capability across QRA.
  • Lead and support staff, building a high-performing, collaborative, and service-oriented team.
  • This role leads a team of three and reports to the Director, Governance and Performance.

QRA\'s workforce is agile and ready to respond quickly to support disaster priorities. You may have the opportunity to undertake other temporary duties or work in alternative locations to support impacted communities.
