About Strategic Procurement Catalyst Role

At ANZ, we're driving transformative change across our procurement landscape. We seek an accomplished Strategic Procurement Catalyst to spearhead category strategy and planning initiatives in Asia-Pacific markets.

This role embodies a unique blend of strategic vision, business acumen, and operational expertise. You will be accountable for overseeing the development and implementation of category management strategies, fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, and driving value creation through informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category management roadmaps, aligning with the Procurement Vision and FY27 Strategy.
  • Elevate a culture of continuous improvement and agile mindset throughout Category Management, embedding a relentless focus on evaluating value delivery and pivoting priorities to ensure alignment with the Bank's strategic imperatives.
  • Support the coordination and prioritization of resources and knowledge assets across all areas of category management to maximize value, promote increased alignment, and ensure achievement of functional objectives.
  • Promote utilization of category tools, subscriptions, and resources to support more effective business partnering and provide powerful real-time insights to category managers and practice leaders.
  • Cultivate rapport with category teams, sponsors, and supplier-facing business teams to support better SRM and facilitate a community of practice, representing the 'voice of our suppliers' into ANZ.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience working in a leading consulting practice firm, tech start-up, or industry (e.g., technology/digital strategy, innovation procurement, or strategic partnerships).
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience implementing the end-to-end supply chain and procurement lifecycle – including category strategy and management, source to contract market activities, negotiation, and execution, contractual/deal expertise, performance management, and navigating supply chain disruption.
  • Experience across transformation strategy and execution; gravitas to influence change agenda for category management at multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional communicator and brings tools and methodologies to solve complex and ambiguous problem statements.
  • Act as a thought leader to business, internal teams, and suppliers to inspire with the latest market trends, insights, and innovation.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and conceptual thinking; excellent persuasive written, analytical, and verbal skills to craft compelling, data-driven narratives.
  • Proactively takes ownership and acts with integrity to deliver required results, empowering others and rolling sleeves up as necessary.
