Retail Profit Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Profit Optimization Specialist to drive the financial performance of designated merchandise departments across all regions for Seed Heritage.

This role will focus on optimizing sales and profit while managing stock levels, markdowns, and inventory to support company growth and profitability.

The Role:

  • Maximize sales and profit for assigned departments through seasonal plans for sales, stock, markdowns, and gross profit.
  • Conduct in-season performance reviews and recommend re-plans to enhance profitability.
  • Develop and maintain item plans for key products and manage optimal inventory levels.
  • Prepare post-seasonal analyses and monthly option plans with buy quantities.
  • Analyze store grading and optimize allocations based on sales performance and demographics.
  • Collaborate with buyers on size, color, and product analysis, updating opening to buy (OTB) as necessary.
  • Manage aged stock and clearance inventory, preparing markdown summaries.
  • Present performance insights and recommendations at weekly trading meetings.
  • This is an on-site role, requiring 5 days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.

About You:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in retail profit optimization or a related field, preferably in fashion.
  • You have a proven track record in managing financial performance and inventory optimization.
  • You possess a strong background in data analysis and post-seasonal performance reviews.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with retail planning software are preferred.
  • You have strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You have leadership experience in team development and mentorship.
  • You have high attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • You can adapt quickly to a fast-paced retail environment.
