About the JobThis is a permanent position that offers expert assessments, tailored treatments and evidence-based education guided by NSW Drug and Alcohol Psychosocial Interventions Guidelines. The role requires delivering intensive case management, family and parenting interventions, and group programs. Specialist consultation is also required to build team capacity in psychological and substance-related care.
This position provides an opportunity to apply advanced clinical skills to make a lasting impact on families affected by substance use.
Responsibilities- Lead intensive case management, family and parenting interventions, and group programs.
- Provide specialist consultation and help build team capacity in psychological and substance-related care.
- Deliver expert assessments and tailored treatments based on evidence-based guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner services to optimise client outcomes.
- Contribute to program development, evaluation and ongoing service improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership and clinical experience as follows: Clinical Psychology/Forensic Psychology – Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate in Clinical/Forensic Psychology; registration as Psychologist with AHPRA with endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology or working towards endorsement.
- Demonstrated experience in comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based intervention for substance dependence or disorder; capacity to act as an independent consultant in addiction.
- Competence in family-focused, evidence-based clinical assessment and intervention with a complex caseload in a community setting, including comorbid mental health and substance use issues, risk assessment and safety planning.
- Strong partnership building and negotiation skills with a wide range of service providers; understanding of interface between services.
- Experience or commitment to working with individuals and families from Indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Understanding of clinical supervision and willingness to participate in supervision and multidisciplinary team reviews.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to contribute to ongoing evaluation and reporting.
- Current Driver's License and willingness to travel for work.
