NBMLHD is a recognised leader in public health services for the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow Region. The Whole Family Team provides clinical and forensic psychology services within community mental health settings, focusing on families affected by substance use.

What You Will Do / Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert assessments, tailored treatments, and evidence-based education within the Whole Family Team.
  • Lead intensive case management, family and parenting interventions, and group programs.
  • Provide specialist consultation and contribute to building team capacity in psychological and substance-related care.
  • Apply advanced clinical skills in line with NSW Drug and Alcohol Psychosocial Interventions Guidelines and NBMLHD practices.
  • Engage in provision of comprehensive psychological assessments and interventions for individuals with substance use disorders; act as an independent consultant in the area of addiction where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of service providers and participate in supervision and multidisciplinary reviews.
  • Support individuals and families from Indigenous and diverse cultural backgrounds; travel as required with a current driver's licence.
What You Will Bring To The Role / Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications and professional registration in Clinical or Forensic Psychology (e.g., Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate) with AHPRA endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology (or working towards endorsement).
  • Experience in comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based intervention for substance use; ability to act as an independent consultant in addiction.
  • Experience with family-focused assessments and interventions in a community setting; knowledge of comorbid mental health and drug/alcohol problems, risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Strong partnership, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to contribute to evaluation and service development, including report writing.
  • Commitment to working with individuals and families from Indigenous or diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical supervision and willingness to participate in supervision and MDT clinical reviews.
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.
