Red Cross Shops seek vibrant individuals who want to contribute to their community, put their life skills into action or gain new valuable skills and experiences. You'll be part of a dynamic team that welcomes people from diverse backgrounds.

  • The shops offer high quality new and pre-loved items including seasonal clothing, shoes, accessories, and homewares. Our customers love a treasure hunt, so we ensure our shops are always full of variety, fun pieces, and vibrant displays
  • You'll be contributing to rescuing pre-loved clothing from landfills
  • You'll be helping raise vital funds to support vulnerable people across Australia

What does a typical day look like in a Shop?

In your 4-hour shift (or more if you like) you'll be doing a variety of tasks like:

  • Welcoming and engaging customers with excellent customer service skills
  • Processing transactions through point of sale, including cash and eftpos payments
  • Sorting and pricing donations with attention to detail
  • Creating visually appealing displays to attract shoppers
  • Keeping the shop clean and tidy
  • Following all shop processes
What skills do you need?
  • A friendly and positive attitude is essential
  • Sociable and engaging with others is crucial
  • Happy to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively
  • Flexible and willing to do any of the shop tasks with a can-do attitude
  • Commitment to your nominated shift and a willingness to learn
What's the application process?
  • No resume required - just tell us why you're interested in the role
  • We'll then have a friendly interview in store and ask you a few questions and you can ask us questions too
  • You must be at least 15 years of age (QLD – You must be 16)
  • Completing a National Police check (paid for by Red Cross)
  • You will also be required to complete an Induction into our organisation and Retail program
