Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced lawyer or associate to join our leading statutory insurance practice in Brisbane. The team is recognised as a leader in Queensland for recovery under the workers compensation scheme, with extensive experience advising well-known self-insurers.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Acting on behalf of insured employers in workers compensation matters
  • Representing state, national, and international insurers, self-insurers, and corporations
  • Drafting codes of practice and occupational health & safety policies for large organisations
  • Litigating product liability cases and Australian Consumer Law matters
  • Managing institutional conduct abuse claims
  • Handling personal injury and general liability matters as required

About You

  • 3 - 4 years post-admission experience in defendant insurance law
  • Experience working with a Work Cover QLD panel firm is highly regarded
  • A proven ability to manage workers compensation or personal injury claims from start to finish
  • Skilled in running matters through court proceedings and day-to-day file management
  • Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
