About the Role

This 12-month max term opportunity is based in Barangaroo, with a hybrid work-from-home and office arrangement. As a Principal Experience Designer, you will play a pivotal role within Journey Borrow, a dynamic team of designers working across Strategic, Service, Experience, and Content Design.

Our mission is to deliver exceptional digital design solutions for both Consumer and Business needs, ensuring regulatory commitments are met while maintaining an exceptional customer experience through a robust design process.

You will lead and mentor designers, contribute to strategic roadmaps, and align customer experience across Westpac's digital ecosystem. Your work will directly impact critical initiatives, including the uplift of 'know your customer' experiences, enhancing outcomes for customers and bankers alike.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor junior team members to grow their expertise and confidence.
  • Engage senior leaders to shape outcomes for complex and high-priority portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Service Design Leads to translate visions into actionable roadmaps and detailed scenarios.
  • Embed within Financial Crime squads to influence roadmaps and drive customer-focused solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions to define problems and drive ideation.
  • Lead UX research initiatives, analysis, and synthesis to gain actionable insights.
  • Drive engagement with the design systems team for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within Westpac's design community.
About You

We're looking for a seasoned digital product designer with 7+ years of experience, strong UX capabilities, and expertise working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders.

As a leader, you will bring a proven ability to work autonomously on strategic initiatives in ambiguous or changing environments. Knowledge of Financial Crime and/or Business customer segments is highly desirable.
